Day 4.2...

posted Jul 12, 2012, 8:39 PM by Oologah First Baptist Church

Tonight was awesome. Pastor spoke about the following...
Does everyone serve in missions?

What is your primary mission as a follower of Christ Jesus? Of course you might say to serve abroad in a foreign country, a classic missionary. Or you may think of a worship leader playing an instrument or sing praises.

Well the camp pastor tonight really set forth a clear understanding of our primary sole purpose. He taught on the scripture found in 2 Corinthians 3:17 - 4:6. Establishing what is true liberty or freedom is, verse 3:17 "…where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." As believers we have been truly set free, we have been liberated from the bondage of sin.

As a mirror shows the reflection of the person, so shall our hearts, our lives, our thoughts, and our actions. The question we should ask ourselves does our live reflect the image of God. Verse 3:18, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit."
Would you agree? Can we say I reflect His glory? To reflect His glory, that is our primary mission for all believers.

Of course, we are human but our hearts transformed and we will look away from the Lord and stumble. God is faithful, He will be there. So, Christians don't lose hope. At chapter 4, "Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy we do not lose heart."

And we shouldn't live doubled, hold in fleshly desires, hiding another side of ourselves to the world, the darkest.  But instead living boldly, speaking truth by being an example to others that without doubt testify to God's truths before man's conscience and God, verse 4:2.

Please continue to read through 4:6 and comment below if you agree.

Thank you God for this message through Bro. Keahbone.

Day 3...

Boys to Men…

You’ve probably heard the expression that men are warriors. Well the pastor spoke to the men last night. He reminded us (if you’re not an adult man already) that it’s a foredawn conclusion that all of us will become men.

So, the question is; “What kind of Man are you going to be?”

Mike Keahbone, our camp pastor for this week, reads from Exodus 20 starting at verse 2. Here God reminds Moses of the time when the Hebrew people were in slavery at the hands of the Egyptians.

Verse 3, here God states the following “You shall have no other gods before Me.” the first commandment. Obviously, God doesn’t want unfaithful children in the family. But wait, this is a build up to a lesson to the men of the nation.

Verse 4, “You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.” Of course, have nothing before you and God and not to replace a false idol for God.

He goes on to verse 5 and this is the point of the instruction to the men, “You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me.” Sounds like a promise to me. If men build up false idols to replaced God in the family or home, then the result is seen on the children 3 to 4 generations. Basically, the children in the home will learn the actions of the father careless regard to God and replacing Him with object or activities. It’s then carried on to future generations until another man in the family breaks the cycle caused by the actions of one pasted father.

On the other side of these actions is another promise from God found in the next verse. That is “but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” I’ve read and heard this scripture before maybe several times before, however in this lesson from Pastor Meahhone God revealed to me this imperative of how so important and heavy of a responsibility we have not only to my immediate family but to future generations. I know what you are thinking; if not putting God first wasn’t enough.

So, in other words good men are biblically warriors of their families and thousands thereafter.

God is good!

It's awesome to witness the Holy Spirit in the youths. You can tell  His movement by the openess and honest questions they ask and are willing to talk about. Everyone is excited to hear what the preacher's sermon is about and how it's all tied together.
Jamison shared with us a nice tune called "Ruin Me" just outside the cabin we are staying at. Washington County Association cabin.

The campers are so excited!

Youth Camp 2012

Ready Set Camp...

Today we traveled, arrived, prepared the cabin, listened, interacted and shared. We are ready for tomorrow with each day's study and fun. We invite the Holy Spirit to move throughout the camp. We are assigned family groups (not church groups) that are made up of different youths from other churches. This will be interesting!
What is freedom?
God has a plan for all of us, are we going to respond? How will we respond? When will we step forward with Gods plan and calling on our life?
We must testify to the decision that we make this week.
Josh 24:14-15 Choose for yourselves today whom you will serve...
The things we go through help God use us to reach others for God's kingdom.
